We Made it to the Ship

admin / January 26, 2018

And it is as beautiful as we remembered.  Getting here was a bit of an adventure, though.  With all our school stuff, and snorkeling gear, and someone’s (looking at you, Kloee) collection of stuffed animals, and who knows what all else we decided we couldn’t live without for 111 days, we ended up with twenty pieces of luggage.  And, believe it or not, everything fits pretty neatly in our two connecting balcony staterooms.  It almost didn’t fit into our rented seven-passenger mini-van; however.  Members of St. Stephen’s may consult Fr. Joe for photographic documentation.

We are all enjoying life aboard ship.  We all slept or just relaxed in our tiny home-away-from-home for the first two days.  Getting us here turns out to have been exhausting.  Five days into our adventure, we are all well-rested and settling into a nice routine.  The kids are enjoying school.  We will post more about that soon.  Charles is working about half of the time, and that seems to be working out well, too.

We are looking forward to reaching land for the first time the day after tomorrow.  Mostly, because we get to spend the day with Jessica.  We are planning to climb Diamond Head and visit the Dole Plantation.  Our plans have been known to change quickly, so we will see.  We also have to replace our printer, which was apparently a casualty of the luggage handlers.  When I plugged it in, smoke came out!  Good-bye, faithful printer.

All is well. God is good.  We are blessed.

Blessings,

Linda

  1. Thanks for the update! I’ve been checking in every day for news, but can totally understand the need to rest first. I was hoping you would post one of Fr Joe’s stuffed minivan pics!! I guess I’ll have to ask him. Looking forward to everything you share!

    1. Thank you, Janice. It is good to know you are reading along. Blessings to you and everyone at home!

  2. Linda,

Hi! This is Peggy Davis. We haven’t met yet but I am sure you know of me from Jessica, Kloee, and Camden.

First off I am thoroughly enjoying your blogs. What a huge gift to give to your Grandchildren! I don’t know how Jessica is surviving without her little “kidos” but I do know they are missed here by many!

Give them a big hug and kiss for me and let me know I just ate a Sugar Shortbread cookie and thoughts went straight to the time when the girls and I spent the day making cut out Christmas cookies. It was so much fun and so so delicious too!

And thank you for keeping all of us posted on the journey of a lifetime!

    Hugs,
    Peggy

  3. Lucy and I love the pictures and your blog. Glad you’re enjoying your cruising and school time. All is well at St Stephen’s and we had a very good annual meeting. God bless you and keep you in His love and care.
    Blessings,
    Fr Joe
