We love Australia. It is energetic, cheerful, fun, and different every day. Our day in Fremantle was no exception. We had to make a choice between two good options. We could spend the day in small Fremantle, the port town, or take a train to the big city, Perth. We chose option one: stay in Fremantle, and we are glad we did.
It was another relaxing day, exploring and relating to friendly people. We visited an impressive market, where Charles purchased a real Australian boomerang. He promises that he is going to hang it on a wall and will not fly it around the yard. OK…. I hope. After a little more shopping, we discovered a nice park, where we stopped to play. There we me a nice little girl, who turned out to be from Denver. She was visiting her grandmother, who lived in town, though. The grandmother was delightfullly-welcoming and provided us with lots of interesting information about the city.
After getting our fill of running around the park, and visiting with our new friend, Madeline, we walked over to the harbor for a nice lunch of fish and chips, and back through the town to the ship. A lovely day in a lovely town.
