Our day in Singapore began in a more relaxed manner than do many shore days. That is because we were getting off the ship for about the next three weeks. We planned to spend the night at a hotel near the airport and then take an early morning flight to Munich, Germany via Dubai, UAE. We didn’t have to hurry to get back to the ship. It would take us some time to adjust to not being in a hurry, and we enjoyed it.
Singapore is a fascinating mix of cultures. You can feel the influence of India, China, and Britain.
There are lovely British colonial buildings pushing against Hindu and Buddhist temples. There are tall skyscrapers, and highly-decorated little shrines. There are beautiful parks, a modern zoo, and even a bird park. With so much to see, we opted for the Hop-on Hop-off bus. That allowed us to ride around and see everything. It would take a long time to really see Singapore. We would like to come back.
We ended the day at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The girls loved the bathtub!
