Florence: The Jewel of the Renaissance, art, art and more art!

admin / April 21, 2018

First thing Monday morning, we headed to Florence by train.  It was raining off and on in both Rome and Florence, but that didn’t dampen our spirits.  We love both cities.  After a two-hour train ride and a short taxi ride, we reached our hotel which had a view of the Doumo, the famed and beautiful Cathedral in the center of the town square of Florence.

The campanile and one panel from the famous bronze doors.  The doors are amazing.

A little mother-daughter time.  Precious!

We had the special treat of a child-friendly tour of the Uffizi, one of Florence’s most important art museums.  Our guide was wonderful with the kids and with the art.  Both girls were fascinated.

My very favorite place in Florence will have its own post.  I have way too many pictures to fit in this one.

Blessings,

Linda

  1. Dear Crowders:

Your pictures and your comments are absolutely fabulous!!! We are enjoying them very much and wishing were with you in Florence. We loved that city too.

The animals are fine and we are in good shape also. WE went church this morning and will enjoy a beautiful party this evening at the Pacific Club, honoring big donors. It will be a delicious dinner and we will be with lots of Philharmonic friends. A beautiful evening ahead.

We look forward to your return.

    Love,

    Mom and Dad
