It was a beautiful day when we arrived in Santa Marta. On the agenda was a bus ride to Tayrona National Natural Park for a half-day of hiking through both beach and forest areas. It is an interesting experience to emerge from the forest onto the beach. We were unable to swim because the beach is dangerous. A sign in eight languages pointed out the over a hundred people have drowned there. We took its advice!
The forest is full of interesting birds. We also spotted a huge, blue butterfly, and monkeys in the trees.
See you soon!
Blessings,
Linda
